Bank robber wanted on Canada-wide warrant

The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a financial institution in Alliston, New Tecumseth.

On Tuesday July 4, 2023, at approximately 11:14 pm, the suspect entered into a financial institution in Alliston, New Tecumseth armed with an apparent firearm and demanded cash to the teller. A quantity of cash was provided to the suspect, who then left the premise in an unknown direction of travel. There were no injures as a result of the incident.

Through investigation, the Nottawasaga OPP Major Crime Unit has identified the suspect as Marc GAUTHIER, who is described as a Caucasian male, 54 years of age, 5’7″ (170cm), 176 lbs (80 kgs) with brown hair (shaved bald) and brown eyes, and occasionally wears eye glasses. He has several tattoos consisting of a tombstone and heart on his left arm and a snake and skull on his right arm. He may be operating a late model white Chevrolet Malibu. The firearm that was used during the commission of the offence has not been located.

The offender is known to frequent Barrie, Parry Sound and Quebec.
