In September of this year, Doppler celebrated ten years as a local news source serving Muskoka and East Parry Sound. What a ride it has been!
Every year, we have seen new growth in readers and contributors. In 2025, our readership grew by more than 50 per cent, averaging over 150,000 readers every month. Thanks to you, we also have an enviable retention rate as people spend more time enjoying the many features that Doppler provides.
We have a great team of eight enthusiastic individuals at Doppler who work hard in a variety of capacities to ensure that Doppler provides high-quality news and community information to our readers.
We, of course, are very grateful to our advertisers, without whom Doppler would not survive. It is a privilege to provide them with a platform to reach so many people in their catchment area. We urge you to support local businesses and organizations.
As we are all aware, this has been a year of challenge and uncertainty as tariff discussions have threatened Canada’s economy. Not surprisingly, this concern has affected some of our potential advertisers.
The good news is that many of our readers and subscribers continue to support Doppler with voluntary financial contributions, some monthly and others annually. We are extremely thankful for this.
