🚧 Bridge / Road Closure – Acton Island (Muskoka Road 29): Scheduled Next Week 🚧

Two nights of overnight road closures are coming soon, pending Muskoka’s unpredictable weather:

➡️ Monday, November 6, and Tuesday, November 7, 2023

Project Summary 

Location: Acton Island bridge in the Township of Muskoka Lakes, near Muskoka Road 29
Road Closure: The upcoming full road closures for the bridge deck repair and resurfacing is scheduled for two nights on November 6th and 7th, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. 
Reason: Upcoming overnight full road closures, specifically for the repair and resurfacing of the bridge deck of the Acton Island Bridge. 
Travel Impacts: No Detour Route Available – EMS Access will be maintained. 

Why is this work required?  

The Acton Island Bridge Rehabilitation Project ensures that all repairs meet high-quality standards while minimizing interruptions. These upcoming overnight full road closures are specifically for the repair and resurfacing of the bridge deck. These closures mark the project’s final phase, ensuring enhanced durability and safety of the Acton Island Bridge. 

Project Duration  

The upcoming full road closures for the bridge deck repair and resurfacing is scheduled for two nights on November 6th and 7th, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. 

Travel Impacts  

The road will experience two full closures overnight on November 6th and 7th, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. These closures have been planned to minimize inconvenience to avoid holidays, weekends, and peak commuting hours. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will always have access during these closures. Residents and stakeholders will be informed in advance via various communication channels. Residents are advised to plan a head.
