From the Muskoka Bears Jr. C Hockey Club:
In a game that will go down in PJHL history, the Muskoka Bears pulled off the unthinkable, defeating the league’s top-ranked, previously undefeated, Alliston Hornets 5-4 in a nail-biting shootout.
With only 14 players on the bench, the Bears delivered a performance for the ages. Hayden Anderson and Jacob Budney sealed the win with clutch shootout goals, but the real hero was goaltender Connor Sampson, who stood on his head with a jaw-dropping 66 saves on 70 shots.
Against all odds, the undermanned Bears showed heart, grit, and determination, etching their names into legend with this monumental victory.
It was as if the stars aligned for this unforgettable night. The PJHL had already marked this matchup as the “Game of the Week,” and it delivered in ways no one could have predicted.
Media man Sam Hossack was behind the camera, capturing every heart-stopping moment of the action with stunning precision. From Connor Sampson’s acrobatic saves to Hayden Anderson’s winning shootout strike, Hossack’s footage immortalized the drama of this epic upset.
