The Muskoka Bears were put to the test over a busy three-game weekend, facing a demanding schedule that saw them play in three different communities over three days.
The weekend opened Friday night in Alliston, where the Bears struggled to find their footing and dropped a 7–2 decision to the hometown squad.
Muskoka rebounded in strong fashion on Saturday night at home, edging the Midland Flyers 4–3 in a shootout. The Bears battled through a tight, back-and-forth contest and were rewarded when Sam Litt scored the shootout winner, securing an important victory and lifting the team’s spirits after the previous night’s loss.
The road trip continued Sunday in Stayner, where a fatigued Bears lineup faced the Siskins. After playing their third game in as many days, Muskoka was unable to keep pace and fell 5–1 to close out the weekend.
Following the demanding stretch, the Bears will now benefit from a 12-day break in their schedule, providing time to rest, recover, and prepare for the next phase of the season. Muskoka returns to the ice at home on January 16.
