Massive sinkhole closes Hwy 11

From March 28:

Just before 2:00 p.m. on March 27, 2025, Bracebridge OPP officers were dispatched to reports of a large sinkhole on Highway 11 North near Sparrow Lake Route D in Gravenhurst. A number of vehicles had collided with it and sustained damage and one person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Bracebridge OPP investigate dangerous firearm use on snowmobiling bridge

From August 27:

A concerning video circulating on social media reportedly shows a group of men firing weapons at a snowmobiling bridge in the MacTier area. A subsequent video captures the aftermath, revealing significant damage to the bridge and its signage, along with scattered bullet casings, shells, and other debris.

Closures of two Gravenhurst Hwy 11 entrances now in the works

From April 17:

The province is taking aim at unsafe entrances to Highway 11 and a pair of access points in Gravenhurst are in their sights. 

During their most recent meeting, Gravenhurst council received staff recommendations regarding upcoming modifications to Highway 11 in Gravenhurst, which include the closure of entrances at Manson/Cowbell Lane and another at Mitchell Road
