A Bracebridge driver will spend time in jail after adding to a record of impaired driving convictions.
John Mcleod, 63, recently appeared in a Bracebridge courtroom to plead guilty to driving with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system.
The court heard that on June 25, 2023, at 1:24 am members of the Bracebridge OPP were on patrol on Highway 118 East when a vehicle was flagged for a license plate reader alert.
Officers pulled the car over and found beer cans inside the door. The driver, Mcleod, ultimately blew readings of 220 mg of alcohol, more than double the legal limit.
Court heard Mcleod had multiple previous convictions for impaired driving.
He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, to be served on weekends, a three year driving ban and 12 months of probation.
