Bracebridge entrepreneur brings podcasts to the people

It’s estimated that roughly half of Canadians between the ages of 18 and 49 now listen to at least one podcast per month. According to a Media Technology Monitor survey, since the pandemic began, the audience is now listening to podcasts for longer than they ever have before and the trend is only expected to continue.

Sarah Haefling understands the power of the podcast better than most. Host of her own successful podcast Made It Happen,  Sarah has now branched out with her new business Elevate Podcast Co.

Elevate is a podcast agency helping entrepreneurs and businesses to have their voices heard and elevate their brand, says Sarah.

“Podcasts can be an incredible marketing tool for your business,”  she says. “It’s a great way to spread brand awareness, and you can establish a real connection with your listenership.”

Sarah is relatively new to the Bracebridge area, having recently moved here from Kingsville. She first became involved with podcasting in 2020.

“In 2019 I was working at an event featuring a panel of local entrepreneurs and after hearing their stories, an idea sparked,” she says. “One year later I finally made the decision to take the leap and start a podcast. I had always loved podcasts, but I didn’t know the first thing about starting one.”

Made it Happen is a podcast series highlighting female entrepreneurs, who took a chance, and launched their own business. With a series of educational and informative interviews, the podcast quickly grew in popularity and is now ranked #36 on the Top Entrepreneurship podcast charts. The podcast just launched its third season to coincide with International Women’s Day on March 8.

Sarah is now hoping that she can use what she’s learned about creating a successful podcast Arena to help others both in Muskoka and abroad.

“It took a lot of research and a lot of time to get to the level where I could be successful,” she says. “I learned a lot along the way. Now I’m hoping I can help others to be just as successful.”

Sarah has helped several people start up their own podcast so far. She says podcasts can be used for brand awareness and marketing, but also by anyone looking to make a deeper connection with their audience than social media might allow.

“We support launching and growing podcasts to connect with their audience, build authority, and amplify their business,” she says. “Through podcast coaching, management and portable podcast studio, we can help anyone with their podcast goals.”

Sarah offers a range of packages from consultation to those who aren’t sure what they want to do, to those who are ready to hit record and get started immediately.
