An update from Bracebridge Library CEO & Chief Librarian Crystal Bergstrome.
Like many of you, the Bracebridge Library has been navigating the challenges that came with the recent significant weather event, and we want to update you on the status of the Coulson Family Bracebridge Library.
During the storm, we experienced some roofing issues that resulted in minor leaks. Out of an abundance of caution and with the safety of our staff and patrons as our highest priority, we made the difficult decision to close temporarily to assess and address the situation.
Since then, crews have been hard at work making the necessary repairs and ensuring the integrity of our roof. We’re pleased to share that we anticipate reopening on Friday, December 27th, just in time to welcome you back to enjoy the library over the holiday break. Please note, however, that while the library will be open, a few areas may remain inaccessible as some repairs are finalized.
We understand how disappointing it is to experience the unexpected closure of a brand-new facility, and we want to assure you that this proactive step was taken to ensure everyone’s safety. We are deeply grateful for your patience and understanding during this time. As we prepare to reopen, we look forward to celebrating the season with you in the library – a space that continues to reflect the warmth and resilience of this incredible community.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Wishing you a safe and festive holiday season!
