Bracebridge OPP searching for “person on interest” in car theft investigation

Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in a stolen vehicle investigation.

Bracebridge OPP, with the assistance of the Muskoka Crime Unit, is conducting an investigation into a stolen vehicle after a property owner called police on June 8, 2024 at 5:45 p.m. to report that a suspicious vehicle, a red 2013 Mercedes, was parked on their Cedar Beach Road property in Bracebridge. The investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from Scarborough in August of 2023.

The investigation is ongoing and police have obtained video footage of a person of interest who was walking on Woodchester Avenue in Bracebridge on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 between 8:45 – 9:00 p.m. Police are asking members of the public to reach out if they recognize this person, or if they have surveillance footage in the area of Woodchester Avenue or Cedar Beach Road that may be helpful.
