A Bracebridge woman has been taken off the road for three years after her third impaired-driving-related offence.
Lisa Young, 57, pleaded guilty recently in a Bracebridge courtroom to failing to provide a breath sample.
Court heard that on September 26, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Bracebridge OPP received a complaint from a member of the public about a vehicle travelling north on Highway 11 before exiting at Highway 118 in Bracebridge. Officers patrolled the area and located the vehicle a short time later on Ecclestone Drive, where they conducted a traffic stop.
Shortly after speaking with the driver, officers arrested and charged Young with refusal to comply with a breath demand. The court was told this marked her third impaired-driving-related offence.
Young was sentenced to 30 days in jail, to be served intermittently, along with 12 months of probation and a three-year driving prohibition.
