Canadians can now submit a claim in bread price fixing settlement

Canadians can submit a claim as part of a $500-million settlement in a class-action lawsuit related to the alleged industry-wide price fixing of bread.

Canadian residents who purchased packaged bread between 2001 and 2021 could be eligible as part of the settlement paid out by the Loblaw/Weston Group for their involvement in the national class action suit. You do not need proof of purchase.

In the class-action lawsuit, the companies were accused of engaging in an industry-wide scheme to fix the price of packaged bread sold in Canada between 2001 and 2021.

The claims process is now open in the settlement announced Thursday. If you live in Ontario, you can submit a claim by the December 12, 2025, deadline by clicking HERE.
