Incoming District councillors will be voting for one of six candidates vying for the position of Muskoka District Chair at their December 5 inaugural council meeting.

Clifford Curry, Jeffrey Lehman, Terry Pilger, Howard Rosenthal, Don Smith, and Tim Withey responded to questions posed by local lawyer and moderator Jean Polak on November 28, giving incoming councillors an opportunity to get a sense of where the candidates stand on issues such as housing, the environment, inclusion, services as well as governance.

Polak posed six questions to the candidates, most of which were submitted beforehand by both community members at large and members of the incoming District Council. Polak said more than 50 questions had been submitted.

Once councillors have been sworn in at their inaugural meeting on Monday, they will be voting for Muskoka’s next District chair. You can view the proceedings here. The meeting begins at 3 p.m.
