Charles Pachter to headline art show in Port Carling

This summer, Canadian cultural legend Charles Pachter brings his vibrant, iconic art to Port Carling for a limited-time pop-up gallery in the heart of Muskoka. The show will run from August 3 to August 9, 2025, with the gallery open daily from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at The Ferndale at 120 Medora Street.

The group aims to raise between $1,000 and $2,000 for the West Muskoka Food Bank. One print will be donated by the artist, and the proceeds from the auction will benefit the food bank.

Known for his vivid imagery of moose, the Queen, barns, and Canadian flags, Pachter is one of Canada’s most celebrated visual artists. His work playfully interrogates national identity while celebrating its symbols. His pieces have been collected by everyone from Prime Ministers to everyday Canadians, and his unmistakable style has become a fixture in Canada’s artistic landscape.

“In my art I have spent decades examining the Canadian identity, celebrating our strengths, and often depicting our country’s symbols with mischievous affection. This exhibition gives viewers a chance to see my works displayed in a setting that’s pure Muskoka magic,” says Charles Pachter, who will appear at select moments throughout the week.

The event is a collaboration between Pachter and Space, a creative initiative led by cultural
entrepreneurs Lorne Gertner and Jed Schneiderman.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Charles’s powerful and playful work to cottage country,” say
Gertner and Schneiderman in a joint statement. “This isn’t just an exhibition—it’s an invitation for Muskoka to engage with a living legend of Canadian art.”

The gallery will feature a curated collection of original canvases and high-quality prints, all
available for purchase. Visitors can expect a bold, joyful, and immersive art experience that
captures Canada’s identity and Muskoka’s spirit.
