Construction is set to resume in early April on Muskoka Road 117 in Baysville as the District of Muskoka and the Township of Lake of Bays continue work on the corridor.
Crews are expected to be on-site this week preparing for the next phase along a 780-metre stretch between Bridge Street and Bay Street. The project began in September 2025 from University Street to Bridge Street and paused for the winter. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2026.
In addition to resurfacing, the work includes a roundabout, pedestrian crossings, traffic calming measures, a multi-use trail, and a sidewalk.
The Baysville work is the first Muskoka Main Streets project, an initiative focused on places where residents live, work, and gather.
During construction, motorists should expect changes to traffic patterns. Signage will guide drivers and pedestrians through the work zone, and Municipal511 updates will help keep navigation services such as Google Maps and Waze current.
Timelines may change due to conditions, and the District says notice will be provided where possible.
