A Muskoka man’s risky driving led to a conviction in Bracebridge court earlier this week
On Tuesday, Nigel Stirtzinger, 39, pled guilty to operating a vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 mL of blood.
Court heard that on April 4, 2021, at 3:13 pm police received a complaint about a potentially impaired driver on Hwy 118 East. The complainant said the driver was having a hard time staying in his lane and also passed multiple vehicles while driving up a hill.
The OPP found the vehicle parked on the side of the highway, and the driver nearby. Stirtzinger blew over the legal limit and was charged.
The court heard that while Stirtzinger does have a previous impaired driving charge, it was some 20 years ago.
He was sentenced to a $1,500 fine, a one-year driving ban and one year of probation.
