A Huntsville man will be spending the next 50 days under house arrest after an all-night party and a motorcycle crash.
This week in a Bracebridge courtroom, Taylor Cottrill pled guilty to dangerous driving.
Court heard that on May 24, 2020 at approximately 8 am the Huntsville OPP received a call regarding a motorcycle crash on Forbes Hill Drive.
Court heard that Cottrill had been at a party and had stayed up all night, before driving away with another man as a passenger on the back of a “dirt bike style motorcycle”.
At some point, Cottrill lost control of the bike, crashing it and throwing the passenger off the back of the bike. Cottrill offered the passenger a ride home, but he declined and instead requested to be dropped off at a nearby convenience store.
The passenger subsequently went to Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site with multiple injuries.
Court heard that Cottrill has been ticketed for speeding multiple times over the past few years.
He was sentenced to 50 days of house arrest, 12 months of probation and a 12-month driving ban.
