Distrcit expands green bin program to 8,000 more households

From the District of Muskoka:

This Fall, we’re excited to welcome Town of Gravenhurst, Township of Muskoka Lakes, and Township of Georgian Bay residents, on year-round roads, to our curbside green bin program! Nearly 8,000 bins have been delivered as part of our largest expansion to date, and it’s amazing to see so many of you already participating in waste diversion during your first week in the program. Thank you! 🙌

Why it Matters ➡️ Using your green bin keeps food waste out of Muskoka’s landfill, reducing greenhouse gases and supporting a greener, more sustainable community.

Not part of curbside yet? ➡️ Green bins are coming to seasonal roads and Common Collection Points in early 2025. But did you know? You can still take organic waste to any transfer station for free. And if you’re worried about bears, we’ve got tips for managing bin odor at www.muskokawaste.ca🐻
