When District councillors meet on April 22, they will endorse increases for the next term of council, lower than those previously approved because the inflationary component has been removed. The increases would be as follows:
In addition, all positions will receive an inflationary adjustment rate determined through the budget process and the chairs of the four standing committees will receive an additional $2,000 per year.

By separating the inflationary component, the remunerations increases previously listed for councillors will go from $3,400 to $2,796 over the next four years. It would also bring down the proposed annual increase for the District chair from $6,306 per year over the next your years to $4,386 per year and the District deputy chair’s salary would go from the previous $3,855 per year to $3,108 per year over the next four year term of council.
