The District and its six lower-tier municipalities develop separate but complementary budgets to address both region-wide and local needs — including transportation on District roads; waste management; community services; long-term care; paramedic services; and local public works projects.
Public input that was gathered via the Muskoka in Focus: 2026 Budget Priorities Survey is used to help guide resource allocation decisions. Results from public input will be shared with members of the District Council and residents on November 17th, 2025. The Council of the District Municipality of Muskoka intends to reaffirm the 2026 Tax and Rate Supported Budget at its Council meeting on Monday, December 15, 2025, commencing at 1 p.m. Members of the public are encouraged to view the proceedings through the District’s webcast.
The 2026 Rate Supported Budget and related user fees, and the 2026 Draft Tax Supported Budget will be available on the District of Muskoka’s website at www.muskoka.on.ca after November 10, 2025.
