District of Muskoka launches online portal for planning applications

The District of Muskoka has announced the launch of Muskoka PlanHub, an online portal enhancing the planning application experience.

With funding support from Ontario’s Rural Economic Development (RED) program, Muskoka PlanHub is set to redefine how District planning applications are submitted and tracked.

MuskokaPlanHub is designed to support all district-level planning applications and their processes, including pre-consultation, drafting plans for subdivisions and condominiums, amendments and extensions to draft approved plans, and official plan amendments.

Starting today, May 1, 2024, all planning applications and commenting requests with the District will be accepted exclusively through Muskoka PlanHub.

Muskoka PlanHub is a digital platform that enables real-time collaboration with everyone involved in the process. This initiative stems from a review of the District’s development approvals process, which recognized the need to streamline the application tracking system.

Muskoka PlanHub was made a reality with the support and funding from Ontario’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) RED program.

“Muskoka PlanHub is all about making it easier and faster to do business with the District. With housing such an urgent need in Muskoka, it’s part of our effort to modernize our planning processes and offer better service to our residents and businesses. With the support of District Council, and the critical funding from OMAFRA’s RED program, our staff have done amazing work here to create a truly leading-edge tool,” stated Jeff Lehman, District Chair.

“The planning application process for the District of Muskoka is becoming more user-friendly with the launch of Muskoka PlanHub. We are putting technology to work to provide better customer service to individuals and businesses as they navigate the planning and development process in our District,” added Nancy Alcock, Chair of the Community and Planning Services Committee
