Donation Pushes Gravenhurst Health Hub Campaign Past $1.15M as Construction Nears

A major private donation is helping maintain momentum behind the Gravenhurst Health Hub as the long-planned project prepares to break ground.

The Rotary Club of Gravenhurst has announced that member John Cooper and his wife Denise have contributed an additional $111,000 toward the initiative. The latest gift brings the couple’s total support to $221,000, making them among the project’s most significant community donors.

In acknowledging the contribution, the Coopers also expressed appreciation to family physician Dr. Chris Richardson and specialist Dr. Keith Moran for their care and ongoing support.

Working alongside the Cottage Country Family Health Team, Rotary has now raised more than $1.15 million for the Health Hub. A tender has been awarded for Phase 1, with construction scheduled to begin this spring. Fundraising efforts continue for Phase 2.

The Gravenhurst Health Hub is designed to expand access to team-based primary care by bringing physicians, nurse practitioners and allied health professionals together in one modern, collaborative space. The project aims to help address local physician shortages, improve patient access, and reduce pressure on hospital services by providing more comprehensive community-based care.

Once completed, the hub is expected to serve residents across Gravenhurst and surrounding Muskoka communities.
