The Town of Gravenhurst is inviting residents and visitors to participate in Doors Open on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Eleven different sites in the community will be open for people to explore between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Sites include the Arts at the Albion building, the Gravenhurst Train Station, the Gravenhurst Opera House, and the Severn Bridge Fairgrounds.
A complete list of locations is available on the Doors Open website.
Admission to each site is free.
“This is a terrific opportunity to learn more about our community and a fun way to spend the day,” Mayor Heidi Lorenz said.
The local Doors Open initiative is part of a greater Doors Open Ontario program delivered by the Ontario Heritage Trust.
The intent of the program – launched in 2002 – is to showcase buildings, natural spaces, infrastructure and cultural landscapes.
Since the program started, the Ontario Heritage Trust says more than nine million visits have been made to various participating locations across the province.
