The Town of Gravenhurst will conduct overnight snow removal operations in the downtown core, starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19.
The work involves removing snowbanks, which will improve sight lines for motorists and pedestrians.
People should use extreme caution when navigating areas where snow removal operations are taking place as there will be trucks and other heavy equipment in use.
Operations will take place on the following roads:
- Muskoka Rd N & S (MR #18) – From James St to Winewood Ave
- Brock St (MR #169) – From Bethune Dr to John St
- Winewood Ave (MR #17) from Muskoka Rd N to Bethune Dr
- Muskoka Beach Rd (MR #17) – From Winewood Ave out to Brydons Bay Rd both sides
- Muskoka Rd S (MR #18) – From James St to Talisman Dr
- Bay St (MR #169) – from John St to N Muldrew Rd at the Lights
- Muskoka Rd N (MR #18) – from Winewood Ave to End of Muskoka Rd. N
Updates on the work will be provided accordingly.
Please note the areas not specifically mentioned in this communication are being attended to as time and resources allow. Our team is working diligently between snowplowing activities to mitigate high banks and improve visibility at intersections.
Residents are reminded that overnight parking (12 a.m. to 7 a.m.) is prohibited on local roads from Nov. 1 to April 30. Overnight parking interferes with the town’s snow removal operations.
Vehicles left on roads overnight will be towed at the owner’s expense.
