A Muskoka motorist found himself in deep trouble for his decision to mix drugs and driving.
Matthew Foley, 32, of Bracebridge, recently pleaded guilty to impaired driving, via video in a Bracebridge courtroom.
Court heard that on Nov. 3, 2020, police receive a report of a black pick up on Hwy 11 at Sparrow Lake Route D driving dangerously. The truck drove into the centre median before driving out and continuing to drive down the highway. The police then received multiple additional complaints about the driver striking the centre median and when police arrived they saw smoke coming out of the swerving vehicle.
When pulled over, Foley appeared impaired, court heard. He later tested positive for fentanyl, codeine, methadone and several other drugs.
He was given a $1,500 fine, a 1-year driving ban and 12 months probation.
