Examples of your responses to Simple Overcalls
Last week we reviewed your responses to partner’s SIMPLE SUIT OVERCALLS. The Overcall bid is all about getting your side into the bidding as soon as possible. Partner Overcalls your Left-Hand Opponent’s (LHO) suit opening bid.
Chase for Space
This week we have examples of your hands. You consider which response to use.
Case 1: Your LHO opens One Heart. Partner Overcalls One Spade. You know partner probably is not wealthy in values but you can help out with your nine points. Bid Two Spades.
Case 2: Your LHO opens One Spade. Partner Overcalls Two Hearts. With seven points and three good Hearts, you are happy to bid Three Hearts.
Case 3: Your LHO opens One Club. Partner Overcalls One Diamond. You have a poor supporting hand with only seven points. Just PASS.
