This calendar is reserved for non-commercial local community events. What does that mean? Your event must be free or of nominal cost, available to anyone (although adult-only events are fine), and not for profit. (We do make exceptions for artists showing their work who would profit from any sales made and musicians hosting small-scale concerts). Not sure if your event fits? Drop us a line at [email protected] to check, or go ahead and submit anyhow – submissions are moderated and we will approve yours if it fits our criteria. Thanks for helping make Muskoka a vibrant community!
The Gravenhurst Opera House is proud to host the Western Regional Festival for the National Theatre School DramaFest (formerly known as the Sears Drama Festival). This festival has been celebrating the height of high school theatrical competition in Ontario since 1946. Schools from around the province compete with a 15-50 minute production starring at least two interacting actors on the stage. Productions are adjudicated and given feedback over the course of the festival week and 3 productions are selected at the Regional level as Outstanding Productions to move on to the NTS Provincials to be held in May in Toronto. The Western Regionals will be hosting schools from across the western end of the province from Windsor to London to Owen Sound, Bradford as far north as Huntsville. Join us in celebrating and witnessing the performers of the future.
Special Guest Adjudicators: Maja Ardel, Robin Clipsham & Autumn Smith
