This calendar is reserved for non-commercial local community events. What does that mean? Your event must be free or of nominal cost, available to anyone (although adult-only events are fine), and not for profit. (We do make exceptions for artists showing their work who would profit from any sales made and musicians hosting small-scale concerts). Not sure if your event fits? Drop us a line at [email protected] to check, or go ahead and submit anyhow – submissions are moderated and we will approve yours if it fits our criteria. Thanks for helping make Muskoka a vibrant community!

Experience two-time JUNO award-winning & two-time Polaris Music Prize-listed songwriter Dan Mangan in our intimate theatre in the woods.

Just back from touring with The Lumineers across Europe and about to leave to tour his new album across Canada, Muskoka Chautauqua is excited to be hosting the legendary Dan Mangan.

Dan Mangan is a two-time JUNO award-winning & two-time Polaris Music Prize-listed musician and songwriter. He has toured around the globe, played Jimmy Kimmel Live, collaborated with Dave Grohl, and scored acclaimed soundtracks for Netflix, AMC, CBC, and feature films.

Mangan’s 6th studio album, ‘Being Somewhere’, was produced by Drew Brown (Radiohead, Beck) over nearly three years of long-distance collaboration. The album unfurls like an overdue tender conversation with a dear friend. Forging sonics well beyond the tropes of modern folk music, the album features a global cadre of top tier musicians including Joey Waronker (Beck, Atoms for Peace), Jason Falkner (Beck, St. Vincent), Thomas Bartlett (The National, Taylor Swift), Dave Okumu (Arlo Parks, Adele) Mary Lattimore (Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten), & Broken Social Scene frontman Kevin Drew. “He sings with the soul of Woody Guthrie – if Woody Guthrie had listened to Godspeed (You! Black Emperor)” – NME.

So get your tickets to Dan Mangan before they are sold out! He will be performing at Muskoka Chautauqua’s theatre in the woods on August 12th at 7:30 pm so mark it in your calendar and come out and see some great live music!
