This calendar is reserved for non-commercial local community events. What does that mean? Your event must be free or of nominal cost, available to anyone (although adult-only events are fine), and not for profit. (We do make exceptions for artists showing their work who would profit from any sales made and musicians hosting small-scale concerts). Not sure if your event fits? Drop us a line at [email protected] to check, or go ahead and submit anyhow – submissions are moderated and we will approve yours if it fits our criteria. Thanks for helping make Muskoka a vibrant community!
The Brown Baggers, Artists of Muskoka open their Spring Show at Muskoka Place Gallery, 1182 Foreman Road, Port Carling on Friday, March 24. The show continues to Saturday, April 29.
Founded in 1985, this group of enthusiastic, established and amateur painters with brown bag lunches in hand have painted ‘en plein air’ (spring to fall) throughout Muskoka. In the winter months, they continue to gather together to paint indoors, share knowledge and explore new and old techniques, and hold workshops.
Inspired by the landscape and places in Muskoka, the group paints in a variety of mediums and styles.
If you are interested in joining the group, the Brown Baggers invites both full time and part time Muskoka and area residents. For more information please contact Marilyn Gargarella at [email protected]
