You are here: Home / Events / Express Permit Extravaganza

This calendar is reserved for non-commercial local community events. What does that mean? Your event must be free or of nominal cost, available to anyone (although adult-only events are fine), and not for profit. (We do make exceptions for artists showing their work who would profit from any sales made and musicians hosting small-scale concerts). Not sure if your event fits? Drop us a line at matt.driscoll@doppleronline.ca to check, or go ahead and submit anyhow – submissions are moderated and we will approve yours if it fits our criteria. Thanks for helping make Muskoka a vibrant community!

The Town of Huntsville is eagerly anticipating the first annual Express Permit Extravaganza on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Home Depot, 9 Ott Drive.

How does the express permit work?
The Express Permit process offers property owners or authorized agent the opportunity to submit complete building permit applications (with supporting plans and documentation) to Town staff on Saturday, May 5, from 9:00am – 1:00pm at Home Depot. Provided all requirements are met, permits will be issued and ready for pickup by the following Wednesday, May 9, at Town Hall between 8:30 – 8:00pm.

All building permit applications are available online at huntsville.ca and should be completed prior to submission. Please note that all waterfront lots are subject to Site Plan Approval and will need completion of site plan approval prior to submitting application as part of the express permit process on May 5.

What applications are accepted through the Express Permit Process?

If you are building a structure that exceeds 10 sq. meters in size then you will need a building permit. Through the express permit process we will only accept building permit applications for: Accessory Buildings (Sheds / Carports / Garages less than 592 sq. ft.), Septic Systems, Decks, Pool Enclosure, Demolition, Interior Renovations, and Temporary Tents.

For additional information, please visit Huntsville.ca/buildingresources.
