This calendar is reserved for non-commercial local community events. What does that mean? Your event must be free or of nominal cost, available to anyone (although adult-only events are fine), and not for profit. (We do make exceptions for artists showing their work who would profit from any sales made and musicians hosting small-scale concerts). Not sure if your event fits? Drop us a line at [email protected] to check, or go ahead and submit anyhow – submissions are moderated and we will approve yours if it fits our criteria. Thanks for helping make Muskoka a vibrant community!
Don’t miss this once in a lifetime event!
The Muskoka Lakes Museum will be joining esteemed authors Jim and Sue Waddington, as they present on their book, “In the Footsteps of the Group of Seven”. In July of 1977, Jim and Sue Waddington began a 36 year journey of discovery that has culminated in this remarkable achievement, In the Footsteps of the Group of Seven. Determined to locate, document, and photograph the actual landscapes that inspired and influenced the brushes of A.Y. Jackson, Franklin Carmichael, Arthur Lismer, Lawren Harris, A.J. Casson, J.E.H. MacDonald, Tom Thomson, and Frederick Varley, the Waddingtons embarked on an artistic expedition that carried them across Canada from sea to sea to sea.
Hosted by the Muskoka Lakes Golf and Country Club, you will have the chance to listen to the story of this remarkable book, enjoy light refreshments, purchase the book, and speak to the authors themselves!
The Muskoka Lakes Museum is a non-profit charity, and we rely on the generosity of our visitors and members to continue to celebrate the history and culture of Muskoka Lakes. The proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the Museum’s operating and programming costs. With your ticket, you will receive a $65 tax receipt.
