This calendar is reserved for non-commercial local community events. What does that mean? Your event must be free or of nominal cost, available to anyone (although adult-only events are fine), and not for profit. (We do make exceptions for artists showing their work who would profit from any sales made and musicians hosting small-scale concerts). Not sure if your event fits? Drop us a line at [email protected] to check, or go ahead and submit anyhow – submissions are moderated and we will approve yours if it fits our criteria. Thanks for helping make Muskoka a vibrant community!

The cemetary actively operate as a “private” cemetery which means they must raise our own funds for care and maintenance (we receive no financial help from the Town of Bracebridge),” says local historian Gary Denniss We operate under the guidelines of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario as did allregistered cemeteries in Ontario.
There will be a $5 charge per adult…kids will enter for free. We have plans for a silent auction, a picnic lunch, contests and a guided tour of the cemetery who will point out the historical highlights of the site. A commemorative history of Laangfird Cemetery will sold to augment our care and maintenance fund.
