This calendar is reserved for non-commercial local community events. What does that mean? Your event must be free or of nominal cost, available to anyone (although adult-only events are fine), and not for profit. (We do make exceptions for artists showing their work who would profit from any sales made and musicians hosting small-scale concerts). Not sure if your event fits? Drop us a line at [email protected] to check, or go ahead and submit anyhow – submissions are moderated and we will approve yours if it fits our criteria. Thanks for helping make Muskoka a vibrant community!

Muskoka Concert Band’s Summer Series “Let’s Dance”

The Muskoka Concert Band Summer Concert Series this year is called Let’s Dance! and will feature popular music that ranges from the 1920s to our current times. You’ll hear everything from Dixieland to Broadway and from the Beetles to Motown and beyond.
You’ll hear all popular music with songs you will know and love in several different concert programs. You can hear the exciting march High Society or the fun melody of Five Foot Two in a Dixieland style, classic big band tunes in Count Basie Salute and I’ve Got You Under My Skin, and great popular Broadway melodies in Broadway Spectacular and A Chorus Line. There will be songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s like Blue Moon featuring our own Sarah Lovering on clarinet, Close to You, Spanish Eyes, and at least one medley of songs by Carol King, Billy Joel, or Michael Bublé. The band will even get a bit funky with Fireflies and a little Uptown Funk!
Join us at the Canada Day celebrations in Bracebridge or for one of our Wednesday evening Beach concerts in July. Better yet, come to all of them so you can enjoy all of the great tunes we have prepared for you! Bring your dancing shoes and feel free to sing along!
