This calendar is reserved for non-commercial local community events. What does that mean? Your event must be free or of nominal cost, available to anyone (although adult-only events are fine), and not for profit. (We do make exceptions for artists showing their work who would profit from any sales made and musicians hosting small-scale concerts). Not sure if your event fits? Drop us a line at [email protected] to check, or go ahead and submit anyhow – submissions are moderated and we will approve yours if it fits our criteria. Thanks for helping make Muskoka a vibrant community!
An all-star Canadian cast of award-winning blues and roots musicians, under the direction of Juno award winning producer and musical director, Lance Anderson, will perform their hit show on Nov 19th at the Gravenhurst Opera House. They will be recreating the atmosphere of The Band’s final concert, which was captured in Martin Scorcese’s award-winning concert film, The Last Waltz. Show starts at 8 PM, doors open at 7:15 PM.
The full stage show has an all-star line-up, featuring 4 guests. Chuck Jackson (Downchild Blues Band) Johnny Max, Matt Weidinger and Quisha Wint (Matchedash Parish) are the guests scheduled for this show. The show also features Jerome Levon Avis (Levon Helm’s godson) and son of The Band road manager Bill Avis. This will be an up close and intimate experience of the music of the Canadian Music Hall of fame members The BAND in a great theatre.
