This event offers inspiration\, honesty\, and actionable guidance for writers at any stage of their creative journey. \nWoodburn’s early passion for storytelling led to extraordinary success: her self-published childhood book sold thousands of copies and received a glowing review in the Los Angeles Times. By high school\, she was already working as a freelance writer and columnist\, with work appearing in Family Circle\, The Writer\, Writing Magazine\, and Chicken Soup for the Soul. In addition to her own writing\, Woodburn now works as a book coach and editor\, helping writers at all stages bring their stories to life. \nHer debut young adult novel\, The Best Week That Never Happened (April 2020)\, was named Grand Prize Winner of the Dante Rossetti Book Award in Young Adult Fiction\, with Kirkus Reviews calling it “a dazzling\, emotional story of love\, loss\, and living in the moment.” Her most recent YA novel\, Thanks\, Carissa\, For Ruining My Life\, was published earlier this year by Immortal Works. Her third novel\, Before & After You & Me\, is forthcoming from Owl Hollow Press. DESCRIPTION:St. John the Baptist Anglican Church (1352 Ravenscliffe Road) is hosting a Contemplative Prayer and Quiet Time each Wednesday beginning March 12th\, 2025.  There will be two sessions per day for people to choose from: 1:30pm to 3:30pm and 6:30pm to 8:30pm \nContemplative Prayer is an opportunity to enter into meditative prayer away from the chaos of daily life.  It is combined with individual quiet time.

DESCRIPTION:A powerful dual showcase of contemporary figurative and abstract works by Amanda Greavette and Kati Bujna \nBracebridge\, ON – MAC on Main Gallery\, located in the heart of Muskoka’s thriving arts scene\, is proud to present Gateways\, a new joint exhibition featuring the work of two Muskoka Arts & Crafts members and independent artists: Amanda Greavette and Kati Bujna. \nOpening Reception: Thursday\, May 29\, 2025 | 5:00–7:00 PM \nExhibition Dates: May 30 – June 15\, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily \nThis compelling exhibition brings together two distinct and complementary voices in contemporary art. Amanda Greavette’s Rebirth collection presents intimate figurative works that honour the experiences of mid-life women\, exploring themes of identity\, aging\, sensuality\, and transformation. Her paintings celebrate the evolving female form with depth and vulnerability. \nIn harmonic contrast\, Kati Bujna’s Water Reflections collection features large-scale\, abstract landscapes inspired by the rhythms of nature and the reflective qualities of water. Using vibrant\, layered and dynamic techniques\, Bujna captures fleeting moments of moving water—bringing meditative movement to multi-storey walls and open-concept interiors. \nTogether\, their work invites viewers through a series of gateways—into water’s abstracted beauty and the shifting tides of womanhood and time.
