Expect an increased police presence on local trails due to training

Central Region Ontario Provincial Policeofficers will be conducting Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) training, which has been underway throughout January and will continue into February.

Residents in the Bracebridge, Huntsville, and Haliburton areas may notice an increased police presence on local trails and surrounding areas as officers take part in scheduled MSV training. These exercises are part of the OPP’s annual effort to ensure officers are prepared to patrol safely and effectively during the winter season.

Training will involve operational snowmobile handling, trail patrol techniques, and scenario-based exercises. All activities are planned with public safety in mind, and no disruptions to local trail systems are expected.

Snowmobilers are reminded to use caution when encountering police training in progress and to always ride according to trail conditions, posted signage and applicable laws.

The OPP appreciates the public’s cooperation as officers complete this MSV training program.
