A Gravenhurst woman’s acts of physical violence landed her behind bars, a Bracebridge court heard earlier this week.
Appearing virtually from custody, Shannon Allen, 36, pled guilty to assault, resisting arrest and failing to comply with court ordered terms.
Court heard that on Jan. 10, 2022 police received a call about a disturbance in Gravenhurst. After attending the residence, members of the Bracebridge OPP found Allen and determined that she was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. When the officers attempted to arrest Allen, she began hitting and kicking at them, as well as attempting to bite one of the officers.
Court heard that Allen has a criminal record and a significant drug problem.
She was sentenced to time served, noted as 58 days, and given another two years of probation.
