A new floating wellness experience officially launched on Lake Muskoka with a lively Grand Opening “Haus Party” on Saturday, December 20.
Floathaus is the latest addition to Muskoka Mind + Body, a wellness collective offering psychotherapy, yoga, Pilates, retreats and workshops. Founded by Kelly Bos and Allison Torrie Clark in March 2020, Muskoka Mind + Body has grown into a hub for holistic wellbeing in the region. The launch of Floathaus in 2025 marks a significant expansion of their vision, made possible with support from Gravenhurst Tourism.
Designed as a floating, Nordic-inspired spa cycle, Floathaus features a traditional wood-fired sauna, a natural cold plunge directly into Lake Muskoka, and both indoor and outdoor lakeside relaxation spaces. The experience is rooted in Nordic wellness traditions that emphasize contrast therapy, connection to nature and intentional rest.
Saturday’s grand opening drew strong interest from the community, with a full “haus” of sauna-goers cycling through the new spa throughout the day. The celebration also included a Christmas mini-market showcasing vendors from across the region, including The Flavour Savour Spice Blends, Date Yourself Date Truffles, and holiday cards and stickers by Hanna Dykstra Design. Guests were also invited to browse the Floathaus studio store, featuring a curated selection of all-Canadian wellness products.
An official ribbon cutting took place in the afternoon, attended by Mayor Heidi Lorenz and several members of Gravenhurst council. The ceremony marked the formal opening of the floating spa and highlighted the growing role of wellness tourism in the community.
