Former Gravenhurst restaurant owner hit with more sexual assault charges

Members of the Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Muskoka Crime Unit have charged a Gravenhurst resident with sexual assault.

In October 2024, the Muskoka Crime Unit began investigating a historical sexual assault alleged to have occurred between 1999 and 2000 at a former licensed establishment in Gravenhurst. As a result of the investigation, Mark SETHI, 58 years of age, of Gravenhurst, was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault CC 271 and Indecent Act CC 173(1)(b).

In August of this year, Sethi was charged with two counts of sexual assault between 2001 and 2004, which also occurred at a former licensed establishment in Gravenhurst.

In August 2023, Sethi was charged with sexual assault following an incident in a taxi cab he was driving. Bracebridge OPP received information reporting a sexual assault had occurred in a taxi near a commercial area in Gravenhurst on July 28, 2023. An occupant of the taxi is alleged to have been sexually assaulted by the driver, Sethi.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, on November 26, 2024, to answer to the charges.
