Fundraiser started for family dealing with crushing loss

Friends of a local family dealing with an unimaginable tragedy are hoping the community will show their support.

As per GoFundMe:

“On June 8, 2025, our hearts shattered with the sudden and unexpected passing of sweet August LeBlanc. A bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him, August brought joy, laughter, and love to his family and community in ways words can never fully capture.

He leaves behind his loving parents, Jo and Aaron, and his two cherished siblings, Hope and Archer, who are navigating the unimaginable loss of their beloved little brother.

As the family grieves, they are also faced with the overwhelming burden of funeral and memorial expenses. In this time of deep sorrow, we are reaching out to our community for support. Your generosity will help ease the financial strain on Jo and Aaron, allowing them to focus on healing and honouring August’s beautiful memory.

Every donation, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and will go directly toward the costs of August’s memorial of life. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others and holding the LeBlanc/Size family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for surrounding this grieving family with love, compassion, and kindness during this incredibly difficult time.”

You can access the GoFundMe page here.

Monck Public School in Bracebridge, where August was a Senior Kindergarten student, issued a statement to students, staff and parents explaining services in place to help deal with the greiving process.

“August was a kind, gentle, inquisitive young boy who always had a smile on his face and he will be missed
at Monck,” read the statement.

Monck School and TLDSB education centres’ flags will be at half-mast until the day of the funeral.
