Garry Cockburn

Peacefully, in the early morning hours of March 3rd, 2026, Garry Wayne Cockburn, in his 83rd year passed away after a long, courageous battle, always and forever surrounded by his family.

Predeceased by his father Colin, mother Gladys and brother Jimmy (Delia), Garry is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Dianne (Soper). He was loving father to daughter Lori (John) and son Michael (Debra) and proud Grandpa to Aimee, Kaiden, Alex, Bryden, and Brynnly.

He is also survived by his brothers Donny (late Dorothy), his twin Colin (Pat), Bobby (late Susie), Dougie (Jane), and his sister Carolyn (Henry) and many cherished nieces and nephews.

After 28 years, Garry retired from Alcan Wire and Cable in Bracebridge and was an avid member and volunteer of the Gravenhurst Seniors Centre.

Garry was lovingly cared for by the angels of Andy’s House, which allowed him one last Christmas at home with family. Their compassion, kindness and support over the last few months are a gift beyond words.

Visitation will take place at Reynold’s Funeral Home in Bracebridge on Tuesday, March 10th at 12pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 1pm with a Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Garry may be made to Andy’s House Hospice in Port Carling.
