During their latest meeting, Gravenhurst council recognized Kayla Thibeault, director of legislative services and clerk for the Town of Gravenhurst, on receiving her Accredited Ontario Municipal Clerk (AOMC) designation.
Thibeault has been with the Town of Gravenhurst for 10 years and has been director of Legislative Services since 2015. She was presented her designation at the 2023 Association of Municipal Clerks and Treasuruer’s conference in early June.
To obtain this accreditation, she had to provide evidence of leadership, organizational skills, political acuity and legislative knowledge.
At the June 20 Committee of the Whole meeting, Mayor Heidi Lorenz congratulated Thibeault, commenting that she was “very well-versed on procedure, never takes shortcuts. We all know that Kayla’s eyes light up when she gets to talk about things like records and elections.”
