The Gravenhurst Fire Department is searching for those individuals who want to help their community and who are up to the many challenges that come with being a firefighter. The Department is currently seeking firefighters for each of its stations in Barkway, Killworthy and Gravenhurst town centre.
“We need great people to be part of our great team,” says Fire Chief Jared Cayley. “If you have a desire to help your community this is a fantastic way to get more involved,” he added.
The Department is looking for individuals 18 years of age and over, who have a strong desire to help others, learn new transferable skills and thrive in a team environment. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit www.gravenhurst.ca/joinGFD for details about being a firefighter, the application and selection process, and the benefits of joining the Fire Department.
Applications can be submitted electronically or dropped off at Station #1 at 190 Harvie Street Unit 1 Monday to Friday during normal office hours. Applications will be accepted for the 2022 Recruitment Drive until Monday, May 30th. A by-invitation information session will take place on June 9th for those applicants who have successfully submitted their applications.
