Gravenhurst rescinds vaccination verification policy

During their most recent meeting, Gravenhurst council approved the recommendation in a report to give the Town’s CAO the authority to rescind the Vaccination Verification Policy implemented on Oct. 19, 2021.

CAO Scott Lucas explained that “as the community is aware, the province is very quickly moving towards re-opening and this report is intended to position us well to rescind that policy when it’s appropriate. I’m not suggesting that is this evening, but it puts us in a position to react, in consultation with public health and other municipalities.”

Lucas explained that currently, he has the authority to make amendments but not to fully rescind the policy. The motion was carried.
