Gravenhurst council received a report on proposed user fees for 2024 during their latest Town council meeting.
In the report, Deputy Treasurer Rob Rosilius wrote, “the most recent inflation report from Statistics Canada is that there was an 2.8% increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in June 2023. In general, user fees and service charges should keep pace with these inflationary cost pressures, much like taxation needs to in order to maintain service levels. Given the recent deceleration in the rate of inflation and last year’s nominal increases of 2%, the Administration is recommending an increase of 2.5% for 2024.”
A feedback page will be available on the Engage Gravenhurst website.
Council will be considering approval of these fees for 2024 on Sept. 19.
