Public meeting to consider Cherokee Phase 2 on Jan. 28

A controversial development on Muskoka Bay in Gravenhurst will return to the spotlight later this month.

On January 28, the town will hold a public meeting at their offices to consider Phase 2 of Cherokee Holdings Starboard condominium development.

In February of 2024 phase one of the project, which features a seven-storey condominium building, underground parking, and a two-storey boathouse was approved.

The dark area indicates Phase 2 of the project.

The public meeting will be to consider a proposed zoning bylaw amendment to allow for Phase 2 to proceed.

The proposed development includes one, five-storey mixed-use building containing the following:

  • 56 residential condominium units (one & two bedrooms) on the top 4 floors;
  • At grade covered parking garage for a total of 18 vehicles;
  • Underground parking garage that extends into the Phase One property (not subject to these applications) for a total of 52 vehicles (in this phase); and
  • 333 square metres of ground floor commercial and retail commercial uses
