Gravenhurst Winter Carnival to Bring Three Days of Family Fun

The 56th annual Gravenhurst Winter Carnival will bring a festive burst of winter fun to downtown Gravenhurst over Family Day weekend, February 13–15, drawing families, community groups and visitors together for three days of seasonal celebration. This year’s carnival will feature a full schedule of activities designed to celebrate winter and community spirit in the heart of Muskoka.

Organized around Main Street and key community venues, the carnival will kick off Friday with Skokie’s Birthday Party at the Muskoka Discovery Centre. The celebration will include cake, magic shows, face painting and horse-drawn wagon rides, setting the tone for a weekend of family-friendly fun.

Saturday’s festivities will offer something for all ages, including the popular Lions Pancake Breakfast, the high-energy Dog Dash, and snowmobile puddle jumping at Gull Lake Rotary Park. Downtown visitors will be able to take part in interactive games and demonstrations, enjoy food offerings such as poutine, and watch competitive eating challenges. An Olympic watch party and evening fireworks at Muskoka Wharf will cap off the day’s events.

On Sunday, residents and visitors will be invited to lace up their skates for free public skating at the Graeme Murray Arena’s Community Centre. The weekend will wrap up with a roaring Demolition Derby at the Severn Bridge Fairgrounds — a perennial highlight expected to draw large crowds eager to see classic winter competition.

Organizers say the event will once again rely on strong community support, with volunteers and local sponsors playing a key role in delivering the weekend’s programming.
