Two more Muskoka drivers had to pay the consequences of drinking and driving in a Bracebridge courtroom recently.
In unrelated incidents, Jean-Paul Sauve and Travis Armour, 32, of Huntsville both pled guilty to driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
Court heard on July 11, 2024, at 11:21 pm, the OPP received a call about a potential impaired driver at Highway 141 and Windermere Road. The caller said a pickup truck with no lights on had gone through a stop sign and into a ditch before pulling back onto the road and driving away.
The Huntsville OPP caught up with the vehicle and observed it travelling 50 km/hr in a 80 km/hr zone on Hwy 60.
Police pulled the driver, Sauve, over and he ultimately blew readings of 240 mg of alcohol, triple the legal limit.
He was fined $2,500 and banned from driving for one year.
Court heard that in an unrelated incident on May 15, 2024, at approximately 2:15 p.m., police received a report of a possible impaired driver on Main Street in the Town of Huntsville.
The police pulled over the driver, Armour, who blew readings of 228 mg of alcohol.
He was fined $2,000 and banned from driving for one year.
