A Huntsville woman has been handed a jail sentence, a lengthy driving prohibition and probation after pleading guilty in Bracebridge court to impaired driving, assaults and breaching court orders.
Sarah Passmore, 36, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, multiple counts of assault and failing to comply with court-ordered conditions.
Court heard the impaired driving charge stemmed from an incident on April 17, 2024, at approximately 4:39 p.m., when Bracebridge OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Prospect Lake Road in Bracebridge.
Officers located the vehicle in a ditch with Passmore standing outside. The court heard police found empty beer cans inside the vehicle. Following her arrest, Passmore provided breath samples that registered 250 milligrams of alcohol, more than three times the legal limit.
The court also heard that on Jan. 21, 2026, Bracebridge OPP were called to the Tim Hortons in Bracebridge after receiving an EMS alert involving an extremely intoxicated woman. Paramedics were assessing Passmore inside an ambulance when she assaulted one of the paramedics.
She was subsequently charged with assault on Feb. 18, 2026, and faced an additional assault charge. The following month, she was charged with breaching court-ordered conditions.
The Crown told the court this marked Passmore’s third impaired driving conviction.
The court imposed a sentence of 70 days in custody, with credit for time already served, meaning no additional jail time was required. Passmore was also prohibited from driving for three years and placed on two years of probation.
