A man’s decision to drink and drive and leave the scene of an accident cost him $2,200 in a Bracebridge court last week.
Court heard that Jeffrey Simpson, 29 was arrest for impaired driving and failure to report an accident.
At 7:07 pm of Aug. 21, 2020 a witness saw a white Acura driving down Brackenridge Road in Muskoka Lakes Township when it crashed into a ditch, taking out a pair of road signs along the way. The witness then saw two males leave the scene after being picked up by a third party.
Some time later the Bracebridge OPP pulled Simpson over and he was arrest for impaired driving.
In addition to the fine, Simpson was prohibited from driving for one year.
